My advice (for what it’s worth) for success and happiness: Compete with yourself and root for everybody else.
: Candice Millard

My eventual competition is with myself. Am I a better person today than I was last week, last month or last year. At the same time, it is valuable to be supportive of others in their pursuit. For the higher that the community achieves, the better it is for me — since it elevates standards and quality for all.

Too often we are caught up in the never-ending trap of comparisons and not understanding that all of us have unique journeys. We are not comparable to each other at all, regardless of what the current societal trends might want us to believe.

To be more supportive and genuinely happy for thy neighbour is a sentiment we should aspire for.

…unless the neighbour is an ass-hole, and if so then F* them! 😉
