Tweet by Wesley Snipes (Actor): “Don’t let the internet rush you. No one is posting their failures”.

It is important to live life at your pace. Not saying it is easy to do that. Because the internet in all its glorious super-powers has the capacity to inundate you with comparison and possibilities of what should be or who you should be and especially where you should be.

But we all walk different paths, and have unique experiences that create a very unique person experiencing this world.

If that is at the essence of our belief, then it is important to understand that while self-reflection of the honest variety is good — any sort of self-criticism that borders on loathing is not good.

The most important conversations are the ones we have with ourselves, and if we don’t feel comfortable being rude to other folks, then we as hell should not be harsh with our own selves.

It is only because we’ve learned and have been conditioned to have those harsh talk at times. By unplugging from our global tribe via the internets, and reflecting for a moment on what we truly want, will we be in a better position to live a more truthful and honest life.

It will still have its suffering, joys and moments of mundaneness. But now we are better positioned to deal with it since we are not role-playing an avatar that is conducive to whom we want to be.

The advice I give to myself is this:
Be many things, be many personas, do and explore a lot — but do it all because on some level I want to do it, and not because I feel compelled to do it.”
